Royal ways, trade routes, pilgrimage ways - the Via Regia has a lot of facets. It linked for the Middle Age Frankfurt am Main in West to Erfurt, Leipzig, Görlitz and Breslau with Krakau in East, and was part of a routes network through Europe.
Stories of men who travelled along the Via Regia and who began researching changes, work, knowledge and wellness, love, wealth and power on the route are numerous.
Under the title “800 years – movement and meeting”, about 450 works of exhibitions from about 100 museums, archives, libraries, but also from churches and monasteries from above all Germany and Poland but also from Czech Republic and Ukraine, symbolize the history of the Via Regia as expression of an alive exchange through the centuries.
