The European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage (AEPJ), has recently appointed Victor Sorenssen as director. Among other tasks, Sorenssen will be in charge of dynamizing the two programs of the Association: the European Days of Jewish Culture and the European Routes. Take over from those who were the coordinators of these projects until now, Davide Saponaro and Michael Mail, whom the AEPJ appreciates the great work done. Both will continue to work with the Association as volunteers.
Victor Sorenssen, studied at the Jewish school in Barcelona. At the age of 18, he spent the year in Israel, first on a kibbutz and then at the Jewish Agency?s Machon Lemadrichim. After that year, he returned to Barcelona to pursue a Degree in Political Science and later studied Hebrew Philology. He has been editor of the Mozaika magazine, specialized in art, literature and the history of Jewish culture. From 2014, he has been the director of the Jewish community of Barcelona (CIB). Between all the Sorenssen goals in charge of the AEPJ, it is found to give more visibility to the Association and to become it in a European reference in terms of defense and dissemination of Jewish heritage.
