The European Federation "Saint James Way" organized its quarterly meeting in Torun, Poland (March 28-31). The Kujawsko-Pomorskie region is the eighth member country of the European Federation "Saint James Way". This meeting marked the opening of the 30th anniversary of the inscription of the "Saint James Way" as the first cultural itinerary of the Council of Europe in 1987. Numerous activities have marked this Polish stay. The 8 European delegations were welcomed by the Marshal Piotr CALBECKI. An important agenda was the presentation of the new brochure using the augmented reality, the new website http: www.saintjamesway.eu; Information about the activities of Institute of European Cultural Routes ; the next ICE Forum in Lucca in Italy - Cooperation projects between cultural routes: Via Regia, Abraham Path ; Of applications for membership (Netherlands, Hungary ...); Creation of a network of universities with the signing of the first protocol of cooperation on 6th April in Portugal ; Creation of a national association in Portugal ; Presentation of a project Leader of sustainable tourism development of the Way of Saint James in Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber in Germany ; The project of sacred music festival in Lithuania on the Way of Saint James; In Belgium: creation of a charter of cooperation between the municipalities crossed by the "chemin de Saint-Jacques" of the Province of Namur - Creation of a "Saint-Jacques" beer, a fresco ; In Spain in Galicia: numerous exhibitions, congres, celebration on October 23rd of the 30th anniversary, colloquium Ibero-amercain, XIé international symposium ...; In France and Belgian "Trail of the Saint Jacques", exhibitions, concerts, Plan Massif project for 800 km (3 M €); Italy and the city of Assisi will host the next General Assembly in May. - Formation of working groups : Network of universities (student exchanges, research, European Master in Spiritual and Religious Tourism, etc.); Creation of the "Chemin de Saint Jacques" award and prize - Annual congress - Cooperation with the European associations of the friends of Saint-Jacques ... - Applications for European programs: Interreg Europe - Erasmus Sport - Cosme ...
In parallel with the work, the delegations visited the magnificent city of Torun (UNESCO), the Chapel of Saint James, the Copernicus Museum, the Chopin Cultural Center in Szafarina, the Ciechocin Village on the Camino Polaco, the Teutonic Castle in Golub- Dobrzyn.
A welcome and a perfect organization have consolidated the dynamics of the European network of local and regional public authorities on the Way of Saint James.
