The Réseau Art Nouveau Network gathered in Brussels from 24 to 26 March 2017 for its Annual General Assembly during which its new President and new Board were elected.
The Mayor of the City of La Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland), Mr Theo Huguenin-Elie, will chair the Network for the next three years, joined by institutions from Ålesund, Ljubljana, La Chaux-de-Fond and the Brussels-Capital Region to complete the Board. The various meetings enabled constructive exchanges and discussions on the future actions of the Network and in particular to set guidelines of the next projects that will stir the Network!
The members had the opportunity to discover iconic buildings of Brussels' Art Nouveau heritage, like the Hotel Tassel of Victor Horta or the area of the Etangs d’Ixelles, and also the rich collections of the CIVA Fondation.
Finally, the conference-master class entitled "Henri Sauvage: From Art Nouveau to Art Deco. Restoration projects" organised on 25 March in the framework of the Brussels Art Nouveau Art Deco Festival was successful. A large and diversified audience including students and professors, architects restorers, professionals of the heritage conservation and the general public could enjoy the presentations and exchanges of points of view of the speakers on the topic of the restoration of iconic buildings.
