Every year, on the 9th of May, the Europe Day celebrates peace and unity in Europe, in commemoration of the 1950 Robert Schuman Declaration. The 2018 edition of the celebration will take place on Wednesday 9th of May from 11:00 to 18:00 at the Place d'Armes and the Jan Palach Square, located in the center of Luxembourg, in the form of a European village.
On the occasion of this celebration, the European Institute of Cultural Routes will be exhibiting in a stand at the Place d'Armes, in the framework of the cluster of stands composed by representatives of various European institutions. This stand will enable the general public to discover the Council of Europe's Cultural Routes Programme as well as the various activities carried out by the Institute. A wide variety of brochures will offer visitors the opportunity to learn about the certified routes and small gifts will also be offered to the public.
The "European village" will be animated by a varied cultural programme including concerts, dances, animations, photography workshop, street art workshop, exhibitions and release of balloons. The official part of the event will be closed with the cutting and distribution of the traditional European cake.
