2018 has been declared the EU-China Tourism Year (ECTY), an initiative that aims to increase visitors to both locations, boost tourism investment and stimulate people-to-people interactions.
This concrete manifestation of EU cultural diplomacy in the framework of the EU-China strategic partnership is a way to develop a better understanding between European and Chinese people, contributing to the "High Level EU-China People-to-People Dialogue" and the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage.
In order to achieve the ECTY objectives, a call for submission of actions and events organized by tourism-related organizations with a European dimension that underpin the ECTY objectives has been launched. A maximum of 10 relevant actions/events that meet the project’s requirements will be selected and granted an eventual financial support restricted to specific organizational costs with a maximum of €30.000 per selected action.
Who can apply?
-should take place in China or an EU country
-must have a European dimension contributing to the ECTY objectives
-cannot pursue direct commercial purposes
-should outline their concept and involvement of stakeholders and experts
-must be organized by a legal entity representing at least 14 EU countries
-must be organized by organizations from an EU country or third country participating in the Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs (COSME)
The deadlines for submission are: 15 May 2018 for actions to be organized between August and December 2018 and 15 June 2018 for actions to be organized between October and December 2018
