This year's Advisory Forum, which is held from 27 to 29 of September in Lucca (Italy), celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
27.09.2017.- The AEPJ participates today and tomorrow at the 7th Cultural Routes Annual Advisory Forum which is held in Lucca, Italy. The Forum will seek three main topics, as the 30th anniversary of the Cultural Routes (its history, its values and future prospects), cultural heritage and sustainable tourism, and the promotion of cultural diversity, dialogue and cultural diplomacy.
The Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe brings together 31 routes, among which are, for example, The Santiago De Compostela Pilgrim Routes, The Viking Routes, Iter Vitis, The Romanesque Routes, Transromanica, and the The European Route of Jewish Heritage among others.
The event will meet representatives of these routes and Council of Europe members, Ministry State of Culture and Tourism, European Institutions, International Organizations, as well as tourism organizations and transnational networks.
Under the title "30 years of Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe: Building dialogue and sustainable development through European values and heritage", the attendees will discuss the past, present and future contributions to the promotion of the values of the Council of Europe in the field of human rights, cultural heritage and intercultural dialogue, with particular attention to the role of democratic citizenship and sustainable, accessible cultural tourism. The AEPJ will contribute to this debate and trusts that this meeting will serve to promote the common objectives of all routes thanks to the teamwork.
A workshop on tourism opportunities will be held on the 29th, with travel agents and tour operators dealing with itineraries, and in our case businesses dealing with Jewish Heritage Tours.
