Some members of the European Convention - Olivier Duhamel, and Ana Palacio, joined by Michel Barnier, Henning Christophersen and Georgios Katiforis - believe that young people should understand what the Convention is doing, and have their say in the discussions about the future of Europe. The functioning and future activities of Viking Heritage:

The creation of the data base is possible with a completely public financial support. A third of the functioning credits comes from European Funds of Regional Development, 2/3 come from County Gotland. The place, the equipment and the salary of the university professors, are furnished and paid by Gotland College of Higher Education.
Trois persons work on the project to which Dan Carlsson and Olle Hofmann, and three or four others collaborate in a more or less season-like manner.
